"Tumbling Dice" is from what many considered the Stones' greatest LP,the double album "Exile On Main Street"(1972,remastered and re-released with 10 additional songs in 2010).Produced by Jimmy Miller with engineers Glyn and Andy Johns, the tracks were recorded from June 1969 to March 1972 in London;Nellcote,France;and Los Angeles. In 2010,ten extra tracks were discovered in the vault and the Stones decided to release them along with the re-mastered original tracks.
Mick Jagger re-recorded the lead vocals for most of the rediscovered tracks in Los Angeles in 2010,and Mick Taylor added a guitar part.Backup singers Lisa Fischer and Cindy Mizelle also worked on the extra tracks. So we can say this massive, critically acclaimed album was actually recorded over many decades, from 1969-2010.The 2010 version of "Exile On Main Street" reached number 1 in Britian and number 2 on the US charts.*
