Melanie Safka died on 23 January 2024 at age 76.She was recording till the end of her life,working on an album of cover songs,which she did so well,along with being a singer/songwriter.Her father was of Ukrainian descent and her mother,a jazz singer,was of Italian heritage.Born in Queens,New York,she resided in the Nashville,Tennesee area and had recently signed a contract with Cleopatra Records.
