Ontario native Avril Lavigne,29,has sold more than 30 million LPs worldwide.She was born in Belleville,but grew up in the little town of Napanee just up the road.Her second husband,Chad Kroeger of the band Nickelback,is featured in "Let Me Go," which came out in 2013.Lavigne is also known for her Abbey Dawn clothing line and several fragrances.*
In motor racing,qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix is about to get underway at Albert Park in Melbourne.It is the start of the Formula One season,with Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel,the defending World Champion,being joined by a new teammate,Daniel Ricciardo of Perth,Western Australia,following Mark Webber's retirement from F1.Germany's Vettel,26,has four World Championships to his name.Will his complete dominance of last year hold up in 2014?With a number of technical rule changes this year,that is in doubt.

Tonight's Music:Paramore and Ke$ha;Golden State Downs Utah
Two contrasting music videos are offered tonight:Paramore's new release "Ain't It Fun" and Ke$ha's 2012 TV performance of "Blow" on Australia's "Sunrise" morning show.Paramore's fun gimmick for this project involved trying to break the most world records in a music video,which,according to website RecordSetter.com,they indeed achieved,breaking such records as:1.fastest time to smash 30 clocks with guitars;2.longest scream while riding in a convertible;3.fastest time to run backwards holding stuffed animals while blindfolded;4.most vinyl records broken in one minute.It certainly succeeded as a publicity stunt,garnering more than two million views on YouTube.As of time of publication,it had also received 60,917 likes.
The real question in music is,whether this or any track can stand on its own,without a gimmick to promote it.*
In the Ke$ha video,she is seen working hard to present her song live on a confined,hot television set,with a gaggle of fans looking on from behind.This seemed to be successful also-not because of a gimmick,but because of the strong effort she made in a challenging setting,performing without a gaffe.Surprisingly,it had only 21,795 YouTube views and 115 likes.*
An environmental concern is raised by Paramore's smashing of clocks with guitars on what appeared to be a rural bridge.Components of the smashed objects could conceivably fall into a waterway or onto another sensitive area.*
Golden State Warrior fans had no concerns as they watched Stephen Curry score 44 points,including 8 threes,in the Warriors' 95-90 victory over the Utah Jazz Friday night.It was Curry's fifth career 40 point-game and his second of the season.

This Week's Videos;Orange Bowl;Winter Storm
This week's videos include a fairly recent release by Ke$ha,November 2012's "Die Young" from her second album "Warrior."This young woman is bigger than I thought she was,becoming another American blonde pop diva,following in the footsteps of Madonna and Lady Gaga.She has sold untold millions of albums-truly amazing.She is a really cool customer in the bargain.That's great for television,a medium which favours such types over hotheads.*
It was a total headache getting the videos to you,with massive technical issues,plus a lot of sorting out to find the best of many live performances of the Ke$ha song.I thought the Aussie clip had the best balance of wildness and control,plus a little interview as well.*
The Rolling Stones video was also released in 2012 and features guitarist Mick Taylor and Bobby Keys on sax.It's interesting that out of more than 750,000 views,it has garnered less than 3,000 likes.Don't know what that's about-puzzlement by a younger generation of viewers?Hopefully there are more gems like that one in the vaults.*

It was a great team performance,said coach Dabo Sweeney.Man,a lot of heart.Two years ago,we got our butts whipped on this same field.We obviously had some stupid plays.A hundred-eighteen years of Clemson football,and we've never had back to back eleven wins.Man,the best is yet to come.*
The Midwest and East are shivering from yet another big winter storm that dumped more than a foot of snow in some areas and bore down with several record low temperatures,killing at least 11 people.More arctic air is on the way for the week ahead,and possibly still another snowstorm for next weekend in this very active pattern.
