Dhaulagiri Climbing Conditions;NBA Playoffs;PGA Tour

April and May are prime climbing months for Dhaulagiri in Nepal.It is one of the 8,000 meter peaks and a Major Mountain Expedition at 8167 meters/26,796 feet.The closest peak to it is Nilgiri Himal at 14.2 miles and 23,167 feet.Annapurna,at 26,547 feet,is 28.7 miles from Dhaulagiri.
The current temperature at the Kathmandu International Airport is 77F,133.6 miles from Dhaulagiri.Under hazy sun,there are light southwest winds.
At the summit of Dhaulagiri,there will be snowfall of 3.1 inches,considered heavy snowfall,on Saturday afternoon.It will be extremely cold at -18F,with a windchill of -49F.The freezing point on the mountain will be 14,900 feet.

Toms Leads The Players,Broad Market Lower

At The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach,Florida,American David Toms,44,holds the 2nd round lead,having shot a 68 -10.Countryman Nick Watney follows at -9,while Luke Donald of England,Graeme McDowell of Scotland,and Americans Lucas Glover and Steve Stricker share 3rd place.Toms has two Top 10 finishes so far this year for an earnings total of 700,215 dollars.
The broader stock market could not hold a lead this week,with the S&P 500 closing down a modest 2.43.Nor was it hopeful about next week,as the S&P futures slid 13.50 early Friday evening.Perhaps inflation fears and deficit problems got the best of it.Bond index futures rose.
