This week we hear British singer-songwriter Charli XCX in "Boom Clap,"a song from the soundtrack of the film "The Fault In Our Stars."Charli is 22 and is of Scottish-Indian descent. Her new album "Suckers" is coming out on 15 December. It is her second major label LP,and her third album overall.
She was born Charlotte Emma Aitchison in Cambridge,England and was raised in Bishop's Stortford,East Hertfordshire.Besides writing her solo compositions, she has co-written hit songs such as "Fancy" with the Australian artist Iggy Azalea and "I Love It" with the Swedish duo Icona.*
While Charli XCX is enjoying great success, the New York Knicks are not.By losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 90-87 Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, they dropped their record to 4-17,the worst start ever in the team's history.
Kyrie Irving posted a strong 37 points for the Cavs;while Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Knicks with his 20 points.Superstar Carmelo Anthony, apparently still cold from an injury, only shot 9 points for the Knicks;but his teammate Amare Stoudemire had a good game, scoring 18.And although Jose Calderon notched a tres at the last buzzer,it didn't reach the net in time, and the Knicks fell to their sixth straight loss.
