The Latest on Hilary Duff;WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Golf

Tonight is featured the third in our series of Hilary Duff's songs from her new album "Breathe In,Breathe Out."It is "Tatoo."Indeed, she actually does have a set of small tattoos on her right arm, which were visible when she visited Universal Studios with her older sister Haylie on Thursday. They were there to do an interview for the entertainment magazine show "Extra."The sisters are both mothers and are promoting their project called Sisterhood of Motherhood Campaign, which encourages women to support one another during childbirth, not criticise each other over name selection or other matters.*
Earlier Thursday, the two appeared on KTLA's Morning Show.Hilary, dressed in a low cut thin white tee, black leather pants and black heels, was wearing her blonde hair in the same layered style we see in the videos.
There's been an eight year gap since his last LP,which has astonished her fans when they hear how good "Breathe In,Breathe Out" is.It's her first LP for RCA Records as well. The new album was exciting, she said.It was a whole learning process for me.I felt like I was doing it all over again as a new person. It was a little bit of a struggle, but it was a very big release.*
Released on 12 June 2015,the LP debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart.Hilary,27,was born in Houston,Texas and later moved to Hollywood with her mother and sister when the girls' talent seemed to require it.They both had been in a touring BalletMet production and local theatre, and would go on to appear in commercials and do modeling jobs in Hollywood,to the point of being homeschooled.Hilary's big break came at the Disney channel, where she starred in the number 1 TV series "Lizzie McGuire" and "The Lizzie McGuire Movie."
At the same time,Disney realised she could sing and steered her into the Disney recording studio as well, where she recorded a Christmas album. That experience led to a contract with Hollywood Records and her second album "Metamorphosis."It went to the top of the charts and has sold more than 5 million copies to date. Two more albums followed with varying degrees of success,as did more TV and film work such as the movies "Agent Cody Banks" and "Cheaper by the Dozen."
From 2010 to 2013,she wrote a trilogy of young adult novels starting with "Elixir,"which topped the New York Times bestseller list.
The darker side of stardom also befell her when she was stalked by a Russian immigrant, who got a sentence of 117 days in prison for his crime.
Hilary married the now-retired Canadian NHL player Mike Cromie in 2011 and they had a son,Luca,in 2012.She filed for divorce in February.
In 2015,she has starred in the TVLand channel series "Younger."How many other stars have risen to the top ranks of both cinema, books, music and television?*
At the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron,Ohio,American Jim Furyk topped the leader board at publication time with his second round eight under par 66.Shane Lowry of Ireland was in second and Bubba Watson of the USA was third.Players were hindered by the dry condition of the greens and the narrow fairways at the Firestone Country Club.World Number One Rory McIlroy is still recovering from a torn tendon, but will play in next week's PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Kohler,Wisconsin.

Van Halen;Grace Slick;Mickelson Improves

This week was featured possibly Van Halen's most romantic song,"Love Walks In." Sammy Hagar aced the vocal.I couldn't imagine David Lee Roth handling that one with his abrasive style.*
Grace Slick is shown handling two different genres equally well, rock and pop,in Jefferson Airplane's "Volunteers" and Jefferson Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now."*
Phil Mickelson was starting to take off in yesterday's second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville,Kentucky.Although Rory McIlroy and Jason Day held first and second place on the leader board of the year's last major, respectively,Phil hit some brilliant long putts to move himself up to seventh place with a six under par 67.He eagled the eighteenth hole.
I made a good putt on 17 and then eagled 18,Mickelson said.I've got to go lower tomorrow because so many guys are around minus five, six or seven.*
Well, the summer weekends are dwindling. Before we know it,September will be with us.

Oak Hill Golf;Perseid Meteor Shower

His nondescript appearance and deadpan manner make him a target for the Hollywood types on television, but Jason Dufner proved his high degree of competence in golf on Friday when he seized the top of the leader board at the PGA Championship in Pittsford,New York, near Rochester. The beautifully forested Oak Hill Country Club saw Dufner tie the record for lowest score in a major championship with his brilliant nine under par 63.Dufner,who is well-regarded by his peers, stood out even in the strongest field in golf, with 99 of the top 100 players in the world vying for the tournament's Wanamaker trophy, seven of them Scotsmen.*The history of the game is dear to my heart,Dufner said, and it's really neat to be part of it.You'd never think a guy from Northeast Ohio would accomplish these things.*1.Jason Dufner,USA,-9 2.Matt Kuchar,USA,-7;Adam Scott,AUS,-7;Jim Furyk,USA,-7 5.Henrik Stenson,SWE,-6;Justin Rose,ENG,-6 7.Robert Garrigus,USA,-5;Steve Stricker,USA,-5 9.Charley Hoffman,USA,-4;Marcus Fraser,AUS,-4.*The Perseid meteor shower will illuminate the night sky from August 11-13,NASA said. The best meteor display of the year may be best seen between 1am and dawn, with meteors streaking across the heavens at the rate of about 70 an hour at the peak of 11-12 August. They are bright because of their relatively large size of around a centimeter across and speed of almost 134,000 kilometers an hour. The debris of Comet Swift-Tuttle,the annual event is about as bright as the Ursa Major constellation's stars, and is better seen outside of urban areas.*Update:Veteran golfer Jim Furyk, who won the US Open in 2003,took over top spot on the leader board of the PGA Championship with his -9 in Saturday's third round at Oak Hill Country Club.Jason Dufner slipped to a close second at -8.The greens were starting to dry out and there was a breeze, making the course more difficult to manage-a trend that may only be accentuated by another dry, sunny day on Sunday. There were a lot more bogies amid the huge white oaks of the densely wooded course,as the cheers of thousands of fans livened things up for Furyk and Dufner.TV ratings must have been hurt, though,by the fact that both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, the world numbers one and two, dropped out of contention with their multiple bogies.*It's totally unrealistic for the media to expect Mickelson to win a second major after his back to back wins in Scotland.Psychologically, that is extremely unlikely. There's a natural comedown after all that glory. As for Woods,he has apparently still not fully recovered mentally from his personal problems, not having won a major for five years now.
